We’ve Finally Turned The Bend
Y’all have been so kind to pray for Pat and me and let us know that you’ve been interceding on our behalf. We realize that a safe and healthy house, in the light of eternity, is not a big deal, but while we’re on this earth it has become very important for Pat’s health.
It appears that we ARE going to be moving to northern Georgia. The medical counsel re Pat has been to find her a healthier place to live. We’ve been inside multitudinous homes in the past six weeks on three trips up there. She had an allergic reaction to every one of them.
The Lord has helped us find a Christian builder who builds safe, healthy houses. He was featured in Guideposts magazine a couple of years ago. This strong Christian builder called this past Wednesday morning at 10:30 and confirmed that the Lord wants him to build our home. It will take between six and eight months, but will be healthy for Pat and have exactly the things we need.
I guess the neatest thing about this whole experience is that the Lord led us to someone who actually has God as a full partner in his business. You might say that God is the Senior Partner. When Pat first contacted him he prayed with her on the phone. When we met a week ago Thursday, he explained his ideas about how God’s will works and shared scripture with us. He then prayed.
You might think that a builder would accept any contract to build a house. Not John. He said that he’d get before the Lord for a few days and let us know if he was the one to build our home.
Pat and I were both convinced that he was, but this potential business deal required four people’s “yes” vote. John, Pat, Jerry, and God! When his phone call came, it was such a neat confirmation. He said that the Lord had not only okayed him building a home for us, but that it would “bless them and it would not be in vain”.
Thanks for your continued prayers about these matters. Y’all are remarkable friends. You’ve hung in there with us through some really bleak and trying times. We’ll pray for your needs, too, if you care to share them with us.
SOME SELECTED RESPONSES TO “PAM BLAINE’S FINE PIECE”
– Hey, Pam, I enjoyed PapaJ’s link to your page. Truly there are many lessons we learn in “the fellowship of suffering.” I do know that none of us would love to learn them there but “Thy will be done.”
– Thanks for the good article.
– Pam’s article reminds me that a “cup of cold water” is all people need sometimes. It was wonderful how she had a chance to minister to so many people. I cried when I read it and felt in awe at how God had worked in that waiting room. Sometimes our difficulties are God’s opportunities.
I really felt the anointing of the Spirit in the songs Mike and Pam sang. I played it for my grandchildren and they liked it too.
– I was introduced to your web site by a good friend of mine, Jerry Meyer, or PapaJ as my husband and I fondly call him. We’ve met him in person and usually try to hook up with him, somewhere, at least once a year. =) We have grown to really love him and his wife, Pat.
I am so glad that I was able to read your article on Jerry’s web site. It touched my heart not only to know that a “cup of cold water,” goes a long way, but that I need to be sensitive to the Holy Spirit’s leading in ministering to people even in little ways…. to offer a shoulder to lean on, a heart full of compassion and perhaps a kind word. Also, we never know, how much time we have left to do these things. I want to hear my Lord say, “well done.”
I visited your web site and loved reading many of your articles. I believe your articles and songs are anointed by the Lord. I know you minister and will continue to minister to many people. Keep looking up.
