Upside Down

Upside Down

I once heard a story of a small band of Marines who had fought bravely past the limits of human endurance and found themselves surrounded by the enemy. They were outnumber 100 to 1 and it seemed hopeless. Just then their leader got their attention and went into a pep talk.

“I know we’ve been fighting for three days with no food and little water. I know we haven’t slept in over 72 hours. I realize that we only have a few rounds of ammo left and a couple grenades. I can understand that it can all seem a little hopeless right now, but understand this. We have the enemy right where we want them!”

Seem a little far fetched? In human terms sure. From the eternal perspective, it is true as God’s word. Sometimes life will sneak up and mug you. Our ole enemy Satan will do his level best to get us to give up. If it were not for God’s faithfulness and His everlasting arms to hold me up, I would have hoisted the white flag of surrender long ago. But read the end of the Book, we win and our enemy Satan loses.

Whenever it seems that you are surrounded and hopelessly outnumbered, remember “Greater is He who is in you than he that is in the world.” If for some reason God has chosen you for a particular battle, never give up! If Satan is rallying his forces around you, remember, you have him right where you want him. Nothing is too difficult for our Great and Mighty God.

I know this was a short one this time, but I have the enemy right where I want him.

Blessings, your fellow servant in HIS service, Tim Meyer
