Do It! Do It Now!
I had a really thought-provoking response to last week’s piece, “Papa’s Pipeline Retreaded”.
The e-mail came from a good friend in Maine. I’ve known Steve for 27 years. He wrote:
“PapaJ, Daughter Dawn was in a car crash Fri. night. They were hit head on by a drunk driver. The accident totaled her Camaro. She and her boyfriend had to be cut out of the car. The drunken driver was dead on arrival.
Just before the crash, Dawn told her friend to put on his seat belt (which he never wears). He snapped it on immediately, just about 2 miles before the crash.
I believe that this might be a different type of Pipeline issue. We must listen and comply when told.
The kids are o.k. They’re badly bruised!!!!!
Steve”
When my wife and I were rearing our children, we emphasized over and over that the definition of obedience is: Do it and do it now!
Thanks, Steve, for drawing our attention to yet another aspect of Papa’s Pipeline. Sometimes, God sends direct orders to us. We must obey – Do it and do it now!
If God gives you further insight into Papa’s Pipeline; if you have a story to share, use the “Leave a Reply” box below! I look forward to hearing from you.
