Hebrews 12:1-3 (NIV 1984)

Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider him who endured such opposition from sinful men, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.*Are you running the race?
* Do you know what race you’re in?
*There are good and bad things that keep us from running the race.

*Sin is a predator waiting to drag us down if we’re not prepared.

*We’re to fix our eyes on Jesus.  He’s our example.

**JOY**
The source of joy is Jesus.

*The joy of the Lord is not a fleeting happiness.  It’s a fruit that blesses others.

**What steals our joy?**

**We must keep focused on God!!**
**Staying focused on Jesus will restore our joy**

Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.
