Nehemiah 9:1-15
Sermon Highlights:
“Why is it important to confess our sin?”
Romans 2:4 (NLT)
“Don’t you see how wonderfully kind, tolerant, and patient God is with you? Does this mean nothing to you? Can’t you see that his kindness is intended to turn you from your sin?”
II Peter 3:9 (NLT)
“The Lord isn’t really being slow about his promise, as some people think. No, he is being patient for your sake. He does not want anyone to be destroyed, but wants everyone to repent.”
**As we draw closer to the Lord, our awareness of sin becomes bigger.
**Draw closer by reading the Bible, pray, fellowship, and serve.
**God will not plant His seed on a hard heart. You have got to take time to be Holy.
**Confession: to publicly admit something. It’s verbalized. Be specific when you confess. Take responsibility for what you’ve done.
1 – Sin can make us ineffective. Our sin overflows into our lives.
Luke 6:45 (NLT)
“A good person produces good things from the treasury of a good heart, and an evil person produces evil things from the treasury of an evil heart. What you say flows from what is in your heart.”
2 – Sin catches up with you.
Hebrews 4:13 (NIV1984)
“Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account.”
3 – Confessing our sin restores our relationship with the Lord.
**Be wise and make confession a daily part of our lives.**
**Spend time with the God. Confess. Ask for grace. Ask that you don’t act upon your flesh.
