Nehemiah 9:28-37

Sermon Highlights:

**The patience of God is a theme that runs through this prayer.
Nehemiah’s people are recalling the past, realizing they need to go God’s way.
1 – Too much rest (downtime) leads to spiritual slothfulness.
Proverbs 15:19 (AMP)
*The way of the sluggard is overgrown with thorns [it pricks, lacerates, and entangles him], but the way of the righteous is plain and raised like a highway.
*Being lazy has an effect on other people.
Proverbs 20:4 (NKJV)
The lazy man will not plow because of winter;
He will beg during harvest and have nothing.
*Being idle has an effect on your walk with the Lord.
2 – When you do it your way, you are subject to your own actions.
I John 1:9 (AMP)
If we [freely] admit that we have sinned and confess our sins, He is faithful and just (true to His own nature and promises) and will forgive our sins [dismiss our lawlessness] and [continuously] cleanse us from all unrighteousness [everything not in conformity to His will in purpose, thought, and action].
*Trust the Lord! His way is better!*
*Don’t settle for second best!*
*Trust the Lord with everything*
3 – Consider the patience of God
God is proactive in His patience
Mark 12:1-12
“Are you listening to his messengers?”
Isaiah 65:2 (AMP)
I have spread out My hands all the day long to a rebellious people, who walk in a way that is not good, after their own thoughts—
**What sin are you not dealing with?**
