Nehemiah 8:9-18

Sermon Highlights:

**What happens to God’s Word when it becomes the cornerstone in our relationships?”
Luke 6:47-49
47 I will show you what he is like who comes to me and hears my words and puts them into practice. 48 He is like a man building a house, who dug down deep and laid the foundation on rock. When a flood came, the torrent struck that house but could not shake it, because it was well built. 49 But the one who hears my words and does not put them into practice is like a man who built a house on the ground without a foundation. The moment the torrent struck that house, it collapsed and its destruction was complete.”
1 – It brings sorrow. The first evidence of revival is repentance.  God’s Word reveals our sin.
Luke 18:13-14
13 “But the tax collector stood at a distance. He would not even look up to heaven, but beat his breast and said, ‘God, have mercy on me, a sinner.’
14 “I tell you that this man, rather than the other, went home justified before God. For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted.”
*Does it bother you when you don’t spend time with the Lord. It should if you don’t.
2 – It changes and shapes culture.
*Is God’s Word the cornerstone of my life?
II Corinthians 10:3
“For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does.”3 – It will bring obedience
John 14:21
“Whoever has my commands and obeys them, he is the one who loves me. He who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I too will love him and show myself to him.”*Make the Word your cornerstone. It will make great changes in your life.*
