Nehemiah 8:1-8

“The Word of God” – It is life that changes
*The scripture is talking of a cleansing agent.
**Leaders who water down the Word of God deal with restless sheep.
**When God’s Word is taught clearly:
1 – It brings understanding. It will bring life changing power.
I Corinthians 2:12
“We have not received the spirit of the world but the Spirit who is from God, that we may understand what God has freely given us.”
2 – It brings a reverence, respect for the Word.
Psalms 138:2
“I will bow down toward your holy temple
and will praise your name
for your love and your faithfulness,
for you have exalted above all things
your name and your word.”
3 – It provides practical instruction on living.
